After
the YEPP here comes YOPI
JUN-10-2000
This
is going to be difficult. It's not easy to find a product
category for this "machine". It started out as a
MP3 successor for the YEPP
(we featured first in April). Shown at the CeBIT, it sure
can do more than just MP3. This is the first PDA that runs
Linux!!

The YOPI has no wireless capability (yet),
uses an 206 MHz ARM processor and features a 4-inch colour
LCD screen, embedded HTML browser, MP3 player and Compact
Flash slot.
According to Samsung future versions will feature a range
of add-on devices, including a TV tuner, GPS module, wireless
GSM modem and digital camera that will attach to the unit
via its Flash slot. Bluetooth and voice recognition integration
is also planned in future versions.
Price:
$400 to $600,
depending
on feature set
